Finish02

Materials And Finishes

Standard FDM materials are PLA and PETG. TPU can be quoted by request when flexibility matters and the geometry is sensible. Resin options include standard resin, tough resin and grey primer-ready resin. Basic support removal is included. Sanding, filling, priming or assembly is quoted separately, because finishing can take longer than printing.

Scale03

Print Sizing And Tolerances

The comfortable maximum FDM part is 250 x 210 x 210 mm. The practical resin tray limit is 190 x 120 x 200 mm. When the file is suitable, expect around ±0.3 mm for FDM and around ±0.15 mm for resin. Holes, pegs, snap fits, heat, layer direction and support marks all affect the real part.

Honest05

The Honest Paragraph

A cheap printed part is not always a good printed part. Layer direction decides whether a clip bends or snaps. PETG survives knocks that make PLA crack, but it strings more and does not love tiny decorative detail. Resin looks beautiful until a thin peg is asked to take a screw, or a support scar lands on the one face everyone will see. Screw holes usually need designing, not wishing. Heat matters. A bracket sitting near a lamp, a car dashboard or a boat cabin window can soften or creep if the material is wrong. If the only file is a rough scan or a mesh pulled from somewhere online, printing it quickly may only give you an accurate copy of a bad decision. Mara would rather redraw the important face, thicken the weak wall, turn the part on the bed and quote the extra half hour honestly than hand over something that looked cheap for one afternoon and failed on Wednesday.

What To Send

  • STL, 3MF or STEP file, ideally at real scale and named with the version number.
  • Desired material, colour and whether appearance or strength matters more.
  • Quantity, deadline and where the part will be used.
  • One photo if it must fit another object, plus any critical dimensions measured with calipers if you have them.

They will not make weapons, weapon parts, or safety-critical automotive, marine, climbing or medical parts where failure could injure someone, plus food-contact resin prints, drinking vessels or toys for children under three.
